On the 18th of April, the result of more then a year of customization to Openbravo was presented to the Openbravo community, during the Openbravo World Conference of 2009.
With Business Momentum's practical approach, ERP software gets even more priority within enterprises. The strive to minimize the amount of input in order to process business processes as quick as possible, has been taken to a whole new level with B-Orange. Expanding the functionalities by creating integrations with Zimbra Collaboration Suite, Alfresco Document Management and more doesn't only add CRM-functions, but also offers a promising solution for many of the recent IT problems that frequently occur. 'Loose data on different locations, lack of proper knowledge and support, seperate software for different business processes etc. are often elements which prevent users to keep track of the overall picture, while getting an overview should be the main target of an implementation' , says Ron Kramer, managing director of Business Momentum, founder of the B-Orange concept. By offering B-Orange as a subscription (SaaS) he expects to be able to handle most of these problems. This means that B-Orange will be managed entirely by vendors, and supports on a professional infrastructure, formerly this wasn't (or only after high investments) possible for SME's. 'For organisations, It is very important to properly manage communication as well as their business processes. These processes appear to be properly covered with most ERP systems, but the link with communication is often missing. Therefore, Business Momentum has developed an integration with Zimbra Collaboration Suite, the so-called Point Of Contact (POC) module. This integration enables user to properly overview e-mail traffic with all contacts when executing business processes very easily, by adding this CRM information to all sorts of documents in Openbravo', explains Morten Minke, head of development for Business Momentum. So except for processing quotations, orders, goods shipments and invoices, it has now become possible to keep up with all customer contacts in B-Orange as well, because this data is automatically imported from Zimbra Collaboration Suite, thanks to the Point Of Contact module. This way, entrepreneurs can be sure that everybody is correctly informed, and that the chance of communication errors is being minimalised. And with B-Orange, soon it will be possible to share even more, like agenda's and tasks. | | ' The community reacted with great enthousiasm to our new modules,' says Ron Kramer. | Besides the integration with Zimbra Collaboration Suite, B-Orange also gained a document management system, Alfresco. All documents; order, goods shipments and invoices as well as e-mail and attachments can be stored in one single system. Alfresco enables us to structure all dat perfectly, so that one can find the document he or she is looking for with just several clicks, without any necessary data copies from B-Orange. All that stands above is only a fraction of all the time-saving functionality that the B-Orange developers have added. 'Succesfull implementations with BoltSafe, ET-Systems and iCentre tell us that our goal to implement software trough intensive cooperation and constant consultancy, combined with unlimited customization and qualitative support is not at all idealistic, and can be a safe and practical solution especially for SME's.' The simplicity of ERP merges best by applying the SaaS model, so that customizations and updates are being processed as easy as possible, according to the B-Orange vision. When everybody is working in the same system, B-Orange can easily make sure that everyone is provided with the proper information for the execution of his task. Consequently, local installations are no longer necessary. It is possible to subscribe to B-Orange on three different levels, dependant of the wanted amount of functionality and data, as well as the need for consulancy, customization and support. Moreover, all data is being hosted in a professionally secured datacenter, and a daily back-up is inclusive in order to break all the taboos about SaaS being unsafe.
